Maschinenfabrik Berthold HERMLE AG will exhibit two automated machining systems and a mill-turn machining centre at AMB 2026. All machines will feature the GEN2 design and will be shown with machining examples. The presentation will take place in Hall 7, Stand C 31. HERMLE will also present a Technology Development area. It will cover hardware, software, digitalisation projects, machining cycles and training-related components.

The exhibition focuses on five-axis machining centres combined with automation systems and integrated mill-turn functions. HERMLE will show machines from its high-performance series. These include the C 12 GEN2 with an RS 05-2 robot system and the C 32 GEN2 with an RS 1 GEN2 robot system. A C 22 MT GEN2 from the mill-turn series completes the machine presentation. In addition to the machines, HERMLE will show how hardware, control technology, digitalisation and machining cycles support its development activities.

C 12 GEN2 with RS 05-2 robot handling

The C 12 GEN2 will be exhibited with the RS 05-2 robot system. This combination is designed for the automated handling of smaller workpieces. The robot system can handle workpieces weighing up to 10 kg. It can also store many individual parts in different storage modules. At the stand, the system will machine an aluminium rocking horse. This example demonstrates the interaction between five-axis machining and automated workpiece handling. The storage concept is central to this configuration. The RS 05-2 can accommodate different storage modules for individual parts. As a result, the machine and robot system are presented as an integrated setup rather than separate components.

C 32 GEN2 with revised RS 1 system

A second automated system combines the C 32 GEN2 five-axis machining centre with the RS 1 GEN2 robot system. The C 32 GEN2 belongs to HERMLE’s high-performance series. The robot system is the latest GEN2 version of the existing RS 1 concept. According to HERMLE, almost all components of the previous RS 1 system have been further developed and optimised. These changes respond to customer requirements. The AMB presentation therefore places particular emphasis on the updated automation system. By exhibiting the C 32 GEN2 with the revised robot solution, HERMLE shows how the latest RS 1 configuration integrates with a five-axis machining centre.

Mill-turn machining with SINUMERIK ONE

The C 22 MT GEN2 will represent HERMLE’s high-performance mill-turn series. For the first time, this machine will be equipped with a Siemens SINUMERIK ONE control. The machine will manufacture a technological component for the aerospace industry. The workpiece combines several machining technologies. It therefore provides a practical example of the mill-turn machine’s intended application. With this demonstration, HERMLE combines five-axis machining and turning operations in one machining centre. The presentation also shows the role of the new control configuration in the C 22 MT GEN2.

Technology development beyond the machine

Alongside the machine demonstrations, HERMLE will operate a dedicated Technology Development stand. This area will cover hardware and software components, digitalisation projects, and milling and machining cycles. Components related to the company’s training expertise will also be included. The separate presentation broadens the focus beyond machine tools and automation hardware. It shows the supporting elements used in machining applications. These include machining cycles, software and training-related content. All exhibits will be located at HERMLE’s Stand C 31 in Hall 7 at AMB 2026.
