VCN series

The Mazak VCN series is a versatile range of vertical machining centres for manufacturers that need reliable performance, machining accuracy and flexibility. Designed for both heavy-duty cutting and high-speed dynamic machining, the machines are suitable for a broad range of production environments.

Multiple configurations

The VCN series is available in several configurations, allowing users to select a machine that fits their component size, production volume and machining strategy. This makes the range suitable for general subcontracting, high-mix production and more demanding industrial applications.

Stable machining

A rigid cast iron frame provides the stability needed for consistent machining results over long production runs. This supports positioning accuracy and reliable process performance, even under challenging cutting conditions.

Productivity and automation

Advanced spindle technology, fast tool changing and flexible tool storage help reduce non-productive time. The machines can also be prepared for automated operation, including robotic loading, allowing manufacturers to increase machine utilisation and support more efficient production.

VCN series in five versions

The Mazak VCN series is available in several versions, aimed at vertical machining applications where table size, axis travel, spindle specification and tool capacity determine the best fit. The range includes BT40 machines with higher spindle speed and BT50 machines with more torque for heavier cutting. The series is positioned for heavy-duty machining, dynamic machining, a large working area, high-rigidity construction and automation-ready production.

VCN-500

The VCN-500 is the most compact model in this selection. It offers 800 mm X-axis travel, 500 mm Y-axis travel and 550 mm Z-axis travel. With a 15,000 min⁻¹ spindle and CAT No.40 tool shank, it is suited to high-speed vertical machining where floor space and productivity are important. The table measures 1,050 × 500 mm and supports workpieces up to 750 kg.

VCN-535C

The VCN-535C takes a different position in the range. It uses a BT50 spindle and has a maximum spindle speed of 8,000 min⁻¹. Compared with the CAT No.40 models, it is aimed more at applications where tool rigidity and torque are important. The machine offers 1,050 mm X-axis travel, 530 mm Y-axis travel and 560 mm Z-axis travel, with a 1,300 × 550 mm table and a maximum loading weight of 1,200 kg.

VCN-600

The VCN-600 expands the working area while keeping the high-speed CAT No.40 spindle configuration. Its axis travel is 1,050 mm in X, 600 mm in Y and 600 mm in Z. The 15,000 min⁻¹ spindle makes it suitable for dynamic machining, while the 1,300 × 600 mm table and 1,200 kg load capacity give it more room for larger components than the VCN-500.

VCN-700

The VCN-700 is the larger CAT No.40 version in the VCN line-up. It combines a 15,000 min⁻¹ spindle with 1,300 mm X-axis travel, 700 mm Y-axis travel and 650 mm Z-axis travel. The table size increases to 1,500 × 700 mm, with a maximum loading weight of 1,800 kg. This places the machine in a higher capacity range for manufacturers that need more travel but still want the speed of a CAT No.40 spindle.

VCN-700D

The VCN-700D is the largest and heaviest-duty model in this overview. It uses a BT50 spindle with a maximum speed of 8,000 min⁻¹ and offers the longest X-axis travel in the series at 1,530 mm. The Y and Z ranges are 700 mm and 650 mm. Its 1,740 × 700 mm table supports up to 2,000 kg, making it the strongest option in this group for larger and heavier workpieces.
