About this machine

BKB Precision in Son operates three DATRON M8Cube machining centres. The machines provide agile 3-axis capacity for sheet material, detailed components and series production in engineering plastics and other non-ferrous materials.   Machine design and performance The M8Cube combines travel of 1,020 x 830 x 245 mm with a working area of approximately 1,000 x 700 x 200 mm. Depending on the selected spindle, speeds of up to 60,000 rpm and output up to 4 kW are available. This high-speed concept is especially effective with small-diameter tools and low cutting forces. DATRON offers vacuum tables, pneumatic clamping and conventional fixture options, allowing the workholding method to be adapted to sheets, profiles or individual components. Minimum-quantity lubrication introduces only a controlled amount of lubricant into the cutting process.   Application in engineering plastics At BKB Precision, the three M8Cube machines are well suited to front panels, covers, housings, fine grooves and batches of nested plastic components. The high spindle speed supports clean cutting with small tools, while the flexible workholding options help shorten setup times between different products. Vacuum clamping is particularly useful for flat material and thin sheets that are difficult to hold mechanically. Limited lubricant use reduces residue and simplifies downstream cleaning. This combination allows BKB to produce accurate edges, detailed features and attractive machined surfaces efficiently across both prototypes and recurring series.
